Tom here. All four of us, plus a few more, were at Suzy and Gary's new house for Thanksgiving. Great meal, great fun catching up with each other. We posed for several pictures, but this one was one of the best.

Summer Shows 2009
The Creater crew had a fun summer show season. In July, Bernie, Greg and the whole crew came over to the Farmer's Museum Junior Livestock Show to watch the girls and my nephew show, as well as enjoying a few days of camping in Cooperstown. It actually turned out to be the coldest show days we have every had. Heather, Bernie, Lucas, and Klara enjoyed all the animals that were showing (dairy cows, beef, dairy goats, sheep and pigs). There are 4-Hers from 9 counties (about 300 kids) and 700 animals with shows for each breed occurring simultaneously. It is a busy but fun three days. We held our own in showmanship and in our confirmation classes.
Then in August Aunt Irene, Justin, Julie and Mark came to the Herkimer Fair to see the kids show and enjoy the rides. Hilary, Shelby, and I would like to thank everyone for visiting and enjoying the show/fair with us. Hilary, Shelby and Dylan (my nephew) did well in showmanship – top third of the class. In the Holstein confirmation class Hilary was glad to beat her sister’s heifer in the youth and open show. Dylan took Grand Champion and Shelby to Reserve Grand Champion with their Ayrshires on both the Youth and Open Show. Shelby took Supreme Champion goat with her Nubian on the youth show day. She also got Master Goat showman. Dylan took Grand Champion and Overall Market Animal for the Open Show with his commercial beef cow. Well that was the major highlights but they had several other great accomplishments.

Here is an update on Colleen Motler's condition
She spent a few days last week in the hospital and came home on Thursday with the care of Hospice.
Colleen and the doctors have decided to stop all Chemo and improve her quality of life. Right now her tumors are incased around her heart but the heart itself is strong.
I will keep you updated as I get updates.

A little late for Memorial Day
Hi! Joanne here, wanted to get this on for Memorial Day as well -- oh where does the time go?? Anyway, Jimmy and I went to D.C. to visit Eddie & Tammy back in March, and as always I have to go to the wall and see Lanny. I thought I would leave you the picture of his name on "The Wall". It was packed there that day. D.C. was great and my brother and sister-in-law are doing well. Take care - sorry so late. Joanne

Building a kiddy stool
Tom here.
Here's a fun little show for you.
I've got a question for my cousins. Our grandfather spent his whole life building houses. Many of our dads were talented carpenters. Is anyone in OUR generation doing any woodworking or house building? How about sharing some pictures.

Memorial Day
Tom here. I decided to repeat this post from last year...with no changes.
This weekend is a long weekend, and some might remember that it is Memorial Day, a day for honoring those who gave their lives to keep this country safe and free.
A few years ago I discovered a terrific audio program on the net about our oldest cousin, Lanny, who died in the Viet Nam War in May of 1970. Each year I make it a part of my Memorial Day weekend, to honor the sacrifice Lanny made for our country. The picture at left was taken at Christmas time, about five months before Lanny died.
Check this out. Click here. Listen to The Moving Wall, by Jane Ladouceur (Ron's wife) and Personal Records, by Ron Ladouceur. Thanks, Jane and Ron for doing such a terrific job and sharing.
You can also see Lannie's information on the Virtual Wall by clicking here. You can leave a tribute if you like.
Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend, and do something special to honor a veteran who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Devon's Prom
Benefit for Colleen Motler
In July of 2008, Colleen received the news that the cancer she had fought off during the early and mid nineties had returned. She went through major surgeries and chemotherapy, but the cancer is proving to be a tough fight. The harsh side effects of the treatment forced her out of her job and Colleen is now consumed by things other than her health.
Her closest friends and family have decided to throw her this fundraiser to be held on Sunday, May 31st at The Paddock in East Greenbush, NY. At the Paddock we will be having a music, barbeque and raffles. Anyone wishing to purchase a ticket ($15.00) to attend, donate a dish or make a monetary contribution please contact Colleen's son JJ, Carolyn Gracey or Aunt Frankie.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Suddenly it's 1975 again !
Paul here ... here are a few of gems from November 1975. The writing on the back says it was taken at the Cusick's 25th anniversary at the Yacht Club. That's 33 years ago.
I remember Yvonne, Marie and Yvette singing like the Andrews Sisters. You can always see those three aunts together in a group picture.
I calculated the ages of all the living aunts and uncles at the time of this photo and here they are:
Grandma would have been 67.
Rita 57, Al 56, Ed 55, Yvette 54, Marie 53, Yvonne 52, Gerard 50, Roger 44 (not pictured), Irene 43,Wilfred 41 (not pictured), Annette 40, Ernie 39, Franklinette 37, Bernie 36, Ronnie 35.
