Younger 10 Daoust Aunts and Uncles
Well, here's the other half of the bunch of aunts and uncles...the younger ones. I'd like to hear a few guesses re when this was taken. I am guessing it was December or January and everyone was gathered together for Christmas or some holiday.

Greetings from N.C.
I am Paul Daoust's daughter and I live in North Carolina with my husband, Jim, and 11-month-old son Danny. Here's a photo of us from this summer. I also maintain a blog that's mostly about Danny, but I do post some funny stories about the other kids in the house - my husband and the dog. You can see that blog here.
It's been wonderful to see all the photos and hear news about family. Being in N.C., we feel rather isolated from the rest of the family. This is such a great idea!

Cousins, Aunts and Stepdaughters
Heather & Allie Johnsen (Zobre)
Now here is a pic of Heather and her daughter Alexandria. We all call her Allie. She will tell you her name is Allie if you call her anything else. She is 4 yrs old but she talks and acts like she is 25. Just ask Joanne. Well that is all for now. Just going through the photos and adding them to my new computer.
Austin & Devon Hover (Zobre)
I don't know how many of you know that Dave had a child when he was in High School. But he always said that he would find him when he turned 21. Well that day was eleven years ago. His name is Jonathan and he has a son Austin in the plain yellow shirt. He is twelve. He did not marry Austin's mother. Jonathan is married now and he and his wife Kelly have a son Devon. Devon and Kaleb are 7 months apart. Kaleb being older. We keep in touch with them and they don't live far. Eric is close to him. When they talk about one another to anyone they refer to each other as brother and sister. Heather also talks to him alot. Just a little update on the grandchildren. 3 boys and 1 girl.
Eric & Kaleb
Hi Michelle this is Terri sending you info you requested from Tom. It very rarely snows in NC and if it does the State shuts down. They do not have the equipment to clear it. My son Eric was in the Marines and he also was stationed in NC but it was in Cherry Point. He was in Crash/Fire/Rescue so this is an Air Base. He is home now and is divorced and has a son (Kaleb) who is 3 soon to be 4 in January. There was one year that NC got some snow and the base shut down and Eric did not know because it was only about an inch. He got into the car and drove to the base once he go to the base they told him everything was shut down and they asked him to stay because he was there, and why did he come in. He told them that the snow was nothing. He is used to driving in 32 inches of snow in one storm. Yes it is humid but it should start cooling down a little and the humidity should be going away soon. Hope this helps.
Terri & Dave in Hawaii 2006
Here is Dave & I in Hawaii last August. Loved it we had so much fun. We spent two weeks. One week on Oahu. Yes we did all the tourist things. I even climbed Diamond Head, man I will never do that again. We were right on Waikiki Beach. The second week we went to the Big Island and that was not as busy. We did walk down to where the lava cut off the road that goes around the island and walked halfway down to where the lava is flowing into the ocean. We only went halfway the steam was coming right at us and it is somewhat toxic so we did not go any further. All and all it was great but after the airplane it will be awhile before I or we go again.

bridal party at my wedding
Carolyn was my matron of honor, my husband Jimmy, me, of course and John Hall, my husbands best man and step father (my father used to be his boss with the fire dept., he used to live around the corner from us on Green Street and he used to babysit us when we were little). Now he's stuck with me and still has to babysit me. Also, what's with Carolyn looking like the bride with her arm intertwined with Jimmy's? Oh yeah, we just got married and I'm acting like a wife (married many years) already. Also where's my father-in-laws arm? What a great family huh??

Daoust Reunion, June 1993
Click on this picture to see the Daoust reunion in June 1993.
But who are those two mystery folks in the shadows on the right ?
Most of us never think about what an unusual family they are, but whenever I tell someone that there were 19 brothers and sisters the response is always amazment. I know there are bigger families, but I have never known any of them.
2007 Daoust Family Golf Outing
Donnie Daoust, Rob Daoust, Bernie Daoust & Ronnie Daoust
Ernie Daoust, Justin DiMartino, Frank DiMartino Sr. & Frank DiMartino Jr.
Matt Stuto, Kent Gracey, Greg Daoust & Bill Lamarre
Bill Coyne, Irene Daoust-Coyne, Ron Daoust & Traci Daoust
Last year we tried to start the annual Daoust Family Golf Outing up in Wilton near Uncle Ernie's place but the pouring rain got the best of us and we barely started before the thunder and lightning forced us off the course (except my Dad (Ron) and my significant other (Matt) who played through any way.
This year we managed to play nine holes and have a nice luncheon at Meadow Greens down in Columbia County. We had 18 players and many more who came down to enjoy the luncheon. I am attaching some pictures I took of the 4-somes.
Let's try and make it even bigger next year - any ideas where to go?

In death - the birth of Daoust Nation
I've been calling most of the cousins to inform them of "Daoust Nation" and have been hearing most reactions being "wonderful" or "fantastic" and then followed by the question from some, "we should've thought of this a long time ago", and "what finally got this started"? I felt I should post this since I haven't spoken with everyone. I'd like to start off by thanking Donna for the idea, Sue, Paul and Josie for getting this up and running and most of all Uncle Wilfred for getting this idea under way.
Donna, Debbie and I were, yet again, a few weeks later (after Aunt Julia's death) having to get on the phone and start making phone calls to cousins regarding the passing of Uncle Wilfred. I told Donna and Debbie the frustration some of the cousins feel. Some of the cousins, without living parents,or not living amongst other family, aren't really getting good news phone calls, just the bad news ones. We all agreed that a lot of our lives are busy so it is hard to sit down and make calls. So before we split up the list of calls, Donna said it would be great if we could set up a web site. I told her it was a great idea and knew Sue could talk to Paul about setting one up or getting it going herself. I called Sue with the idea and she loved it and took the ball and started it rolling.
We went to Uncle Wilfreds memorial service - saw a lot of cousins come in for this and it felt good to see everyone, only wishing the circumstances were a different reason for the gathering. My brother did a beautiful eulogy (he said he will post it on here) from a compilation of stories and Father Forno's sermon was about the closeness of the Daoust family and said "most families are considered a clan, but never have I experienced a family so close and grand as the Daoust family and never have I referred to them as a clan, but instead I refer to them as "DAOUST NATION". Hence - thank you Uncle Wilfred - because they always say for every death there is a birth and this is quite the birth, (what is there more than 100 of us between aunts, uncles, 1st, 2nd and third cousins?) because many of us are now brought back together again, in good news and in bad news.
No it's not Aunt Yvonnes and Grandma and Grandpa's backyard, where we used to run around like maniacs and drive all our parents crazy and yet most of us cousins never realized back then how precious this family really is. Welcome back to Aunt Yvonne and Grandma and Grandpa's backyard and welcome everyone to "Daoust Nation". I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing from many whether it be good or bad!! Road of Valley of Oust
Click on image to view full size. This was taken in Josselin France in Brittany by Suzanne on our trip in August. Translates Road of Valley of Oust. Oust refers to the River Oust. Da is the word "of" which is used as a conjunctive d' with Oust. Thus when Americanize Daoust. Grandma mentioned this river as an area our family may have come from. It is a farming area and we were perhaps farm workers in this area.

The Older 7 Daoust Aunts and Uncles
France August'07
Ed Daoust's young family
Here's Tom, Cheryl, Suzanne (baby), Jeanne, and Paul Daoust in Washington Park around 1954. Maybe someone who still lives in Albany can tell me if the statue behind us is still there or when it was removed.
Notice that all of life in these years was in black and white. We even thought in black and white. Even apples were gray or black.

Aunt Yvonne & Uncle Bill with 'Tommy'
Hi, this is Tom in Concord, NC (first row, on right). Thought I would contribute something to this exchange. It is a shame that we can't see each other more in real time, but that's life. I have something like 12,000 photos on my computer, but I won't bore you with all of them, but just treat you to some gems that y'all might find interesting.
Would love to hear from you.
